party planning help and questions for a dark type gothic party

i really want help and advice when it comes to partys im not well off at these things. what i want to do is have a 16th birthday and everyone and all of my friends come as goth, emo etc. its not a horror theme, i think a horror theme would be more easy but i am stuck on what other ideas i can come up with to make my 16th birthday good and dark. step one we all are dressed as goth and so on, step two "im lost for other ideas"
