Thread: Should school uniforms be banned?

There has been much debate on whether or not school uniforms should be permanently banned from all public schools. In other words, school uniforms will never exist in public schools in America. This would prevent it from happening in the future, which is a good thing. I believe they should be made illegal, because there is no reason to have them and it's been proven that students perform better without them. What are your thoughts on school uniforms being outlawed?

i actually like the fact in Aus there are uniforms for primary school kids and high school kids from year 1 to 10. that way it sorts the kids from school to the kids that are eg: walking past the school. inter sports day sorts the schools out on which school you go to, at inter sports and swimming inter sports, if everyone was not in uniform then honestly mate you would get lost. there are SO many kids at sports days from so many different schools, so yeah, i must say uniforms come in handy thats for sure.
well is basically like watch pro sports on tv, if those sports stars ware anything then they want, how would they know who to pass the ball to lol, thats just an eg.
also if i was a parent, i would be happy to know that my kids have gone to school and can be seen and found a lot easier because there in there school colors. if i was out of uniform it would be a lot easier to skip school lol, or at lunch time go down the shop. teachers wouldnt know you are even from that school. on school day trips, or day trips into the city, uniforms help keep kids together, stop from getting lost. uniforms for sure have there good points.
but anyway, once you hit year 11 and then going onto college, you can wear what you want. a few years of uniform wont kill you god. i must say i hated wearing uniforms, but now looking back i can see now on why we had to wear uniforms. theres shit loads of reasons its a good thing.
