“Kate, RUN!”
Those were the words that left Lost viewers hanging after November 8’s fall finale, the episode that also saw Kate and Sawyer engage in some seriously sexy cage-lovin’ — which Jack had the misfortune to witness. When we last saw our favorite island-dwellers, Jack was holding an unconscious Ben hostage so Kate and Sawyer could escape the clutches of those evil Others… but are the Others truly evil?
“We’ll begin peeling back the layers of who the Others are, how long they’ve been on the island and what their origins are,” promises executive producer Damon Lindelof. “That’s sort of the uber-plot of Season 3.”
But what about the plethora of other unanswered questions that have been creating countless sleepless nights for Lost fans? How did Locke get into the wheelchair? What’s the deal with Jack’s bizarre tattoos? What really happened to Desmond, Charlie, Locke and Mr. Eko when the hatch exploded? And what about Penelope: Has she really located the island?
Well Lost-aholics, prepare yourself for a belated Christmas present. According to executive producer Carlton Cuse, “There are some upcoming episodes that will answer a number of the open questions.” But as die-hard fans know, whenever Lost gives you an answer, 10 more questions come up, and this season is no different. “Two bombs are being dropped [when the show returns], one of which is a character bomb, and the other is a significant story bomb, a game-changer.”
The answers will start to trickle in when Lost returns on February 7 at 10 p.m. ET, with a Juliet-centric episode that gets 2007 started off with a bang, courtesy of the gun in Juliet’s hands!
