Will I know for sure in the province of Manitoba that you must be at least fifteen and a half to get your drivers Ed. and that you have to be officially sixteen in order to drive... although I do not know about the lisence plates.
I might be pretty, but I ain't your typical princess.

I'm not speaking for the rest of Canada, but in Quebec you have to be 16. First you get a temporary where you have to drive with an adult, after about 8 months of that, you're allowed to drive alone. My friends drive me home from school sometimes and we're 16.

We have a license plate. This is how a Quebec one looks like:

Yes, it's a provincial matter, so each province differs.

Here in Ontario, you can apply for your G1 when you're 16. This is a written test that allows you to drive with an adult between certain hours (sunrise and sunset, or somewhere around there) with no alcohol in your system.

Eight months later, you can take a road test to get your G2. This allows you to drive on your own with a small percentage of alcohol in your body. You're able to drive any time of the day.

A year after you pass your G1, you're eligible for your G, which allows you to drive outside of the country (and lowers your insurance ).
