The gavel came down and sentence pronounced

Out and out I must go of my house

Sixteen years gone down the drain

    Lost within the company's brain

    Upper levels conspire at still

Against those of us who have a will

Let's send them here see how the do

Then once they settle in.bam! Here's house two

Thing taken for granted are striped away

As we are sent upon our way

Never to hear that familiar creak

That once never failed to made you freak

The sliding door with outdoors in

Now replaced a heart to win

Carpet worn by foe and friend

Has met with its untimely end

The squeaky windows and stubborn door

Will never lose there strange allure

The musty smell is not the same

    When held within another's domain

'Home" rings hollow within new walls

And travels differently down stucco halls

Tiles have never felt so cold

Nor an empty ring such fear ere hold

No pond shall ever rival the overgrown puddle

That used to put your folks in a muddle

The ugly swing set's memories fade

And new experiences try to invade

To take the place of baseball walks

    And friendly neighborhood time talks

A peaceful graveyard now dead to me

I wish these things once more to see

William Blake - "The Chimney Sweeper"

A little black thing among the snow,

Crying "'weep! 'weep!" in notes of woe!

"Where are thy father and mother, say?"

"They are both gone up to the church to pray.

"Because I was happy upon the heath,

And smiled among the winter's snow,

They clothed me in the clothes of death,

And taught me to sing the notes of woe.

"And because I am happy and dance and sing,

They think they have done me no injury,

And are gone to praise God and his Priest and King,

Who make up a heaven of our misery."
