10 Star Rating:

Amazingly Emotional,
This movie was amazing.
Beginning to end it had me drawn in.
This movie breaks
the rules and thinks outside the box...
and gets away with it. Maybe
not a blockbuster, but definitely a
cult classic
To other reviewers:
Please, do a little research before
you cut the movie off at the knees.
1st off they're not Christian fanatics,
they're another cult. Secondly,
not everything is movies are based on
real things. Certain things can be
completely fictional. The movie was
made to have that dream/nightmare
feel. It was an amazing movie if you
actually paid attention to it,
and I'm sorry if your feeble mind cannot
comprehend what is going on.
As for the part where they tell you
the back-story, it had nothing to do
with anyone not knowing what was
going on. Konami as well as Sony
loved it so much they didn't cut anything.
That is why the movie is so
long. Not to mention this is a
European FILM!!!! Japanese horror,
European writers
and actors with few Americans (yeah
some of the actors were but
they don't write the film). The movie is
supposed to make you sit back and go
"what the ****??" when things randomly
happen...that's what Silent
Hill is all about. This isn't your run-of-the
-mill horror "horny teen"
slasher film (which unfortunately is what's
most popular in America).
If you can, go to a matinée where you
can watch it without all of
the people who think they're in MST3k
and all of the people who
feel the need to talk to the screen. The
story is deep, really deep.
The ending is tragic. And if you still don't
get it, it doesn't mean
the movie sucked...it just means you don't
get it.

FAQ for
Silent Hill 2 (2008)
When was 'Silent Hill 2" announced? What do we know so far?
On December 24, 2006, in an interview in dvdrama.com, Silent Hill Writer/Director Christophe Gans announced that Sony has officially ordered another installment of Silent Hill. Gans also stated that he'd like to come back to the franchise, if his current commitment to Onimusha doesn't bar him from participating. In the event that Gans isn't available to direct the film personally, he recommended that it be helmed by another European Director, preferably a fellow Frenchman. Gans also confirmed that Roger Avary will be back to write the script. An English language translation of Gans" interview can be found on Gamespot.
Will this be an adaptation of the game 'Silent Hill 2" or will it follow the storyline of the first film?
The Director and Co-author of the first film, Christophe Gans, has reported that he would like to develop the mythology he explored in the first film. However, he and Co-author Roger Avary have also previously expressed interest in adapting the Silent Hill 2 video game. At present, neither possibility has been confirmed.
Is Neil Gaiman writing the sequel with Roger Avary?
No. Neil Gaiman announced on his blog that this was simply an internet rumor:"Yesterday I discovered pretty much all of my FAQ messages were people asking whether I was really going to be writing the Silent Hill sequel with Roger Avary. I'm afraid that I don't think I am--I mean, it's the first thing I've ever heard of it, and I'm sure that if they make a sequel Roger would want to write it himself." The rumor stems from a mistranslation on a Silent Hill Fan Site, in which Gans actually said Roger Avary would be returning to write the script for Silent Hill 2 when he was finished with "his project with his friend Neil Gaiman". Gans was either referring to Beowulf or Black Hole.
Any news on returning cast members?
While Radha Mitchell joked in a previous interview that she'd like to come back as a creature, at the present time, there is no news about any returning cast members.
