    Default Those were better days

I look at the greatest generation and I see heroism.

The greatest generation fought in world war two and defended our nation. These young men gave everything for our country. They returned home and led productive lives, bringing up children with strong moral and religious values. They behaved as decent citizens do. These men (and women) were model Americans.

Now look at todays youth. I see gothic freaks, emo losers, hippie potheads, shrill feminazis, whiny little socialists who sport "Che" t-shirts, etc. This is pathetic. My own generation ashames me. Most don't even support our country.

What has happened to our youth? The greatest generation volunteered to serve our nation. Much of todays youth generation would rather smoke pot. Its depressing.

Back in the good ol" days, there was also white supremacy and oppression of women. But if the way someone dresses is more important to you than the way someone acts...

Those children, the ones with strong moral and religious compass, are the ones who are now running this country into the ground. Perhaps they, and you, should stop expecting a homogenous and ethnocentric body of people and start accepting what this country was supposed to represent: a free democracy.

Hippies began not twenty years after that generation you hold dear, yet probably know nothing about. Their rebellious movement served the purpose of lashing out against corruption and McCarthyism, action that Bush is very similar himself to. You know what else began during that age? The Women's Rights movement, or those 'feminazis" as you like to say. If it wasn't for Gloria Steinum and Wonder Woman and Ms. Magazine, perhaps you would have never been given the right to voice your opinion. Whiny little socialists who don't agree with the direction this country is going in... kinda like, you.

I'm sorry, but right now, you sound like you are a close-minded and judgmental bigot. You don't know what people represent. You don't know what people believe. You have everybody stuck in categories, and if anyone expresses any disagreement with you politically, you call them unAmerican.

There's a military vehicle called a Cougar that is built upon a V-shaped base, in order for car bombs to deflect debris outward using the V. Nobody overseas has died from a car bomb using these vehicles. Yet, there's only about 100 of them being used.

    Why?

Why can this country produce one airplane EVERY hour? Why can this country produce more vehicles that run on dangerous fumes which will eventually destroy our civilization? (I guess you can guess that their interests are in the profits to be made by stupid, oblivious, Americans) Why can't this administration use that same effort to build more Cougars for the troops overseas?

And you say that WE don't care about the troops, who want them out of harm's way? WE don't care about the troops, yet we're the ones fighting against lax gun control laws. WE don't care about the troops, yet we're not the ones who lied to them and gave them a false premise to this rediculous war.

There was an actual reason to go into World War II. The same cannot be said for this.

Hahahaha, oh Lord help us if this is what you truly believe.

I look at the time of WW2 and you know what I see; I see the death of over 6 million people.

As for your 'greatest generation" crap give it a rest - the only reason the USA properly got involved was because of Pearl Harbour and before that when they ripped off Britain for supplies.

Returned home did they? Tell that to those who died.

To be frank what exactly is there to support or be proud of? As a British citizen I feel sorry for Americans" the country is governed by morons who want to strip them of their rights and generally run the type of facist regime that it seems you would applaud.

Even more so, I'm someone who is pretty against the use of illegal drugs but if it came down to serving in the US army or smoking pot then ffs sake give me some skins.

    QFT to Shawnzy.

Ps. I'm leaving tomrorow morning to go on holiday to the USA, wahay, I may dislike the goverment but the skiing is the shizzle!
