    Default Canada's Annual Seal Slaughter

The barbaric primitiveness of the hunt-slaughter, or cull, contrasts jarringly with the "nice guy" image Canada wishes to project abroad.

if there is a cull, then there is nothing wrong with it. Australia has a terrible problem with rabbits. And given the chance i would more then be happy to help cull these rodents

there is maybe 6 million seals in Canada

    we hunt 325,000 seals

they are not in danger of extinction

also if we stop hunting seals, they will sooner or later bring to extinction all the fish we have because seals are big fish eaters.

at some point seal hunt is necessary.

also some people think the way we hunt them is barbaric. but they actually suffer less from our "barbaric ways" than from being shot where they are not completely dead.

and the hunt of seal pups has been illegal for a few years now so i don't see why people still complain about it.

i've read about all those celebrities complaining about the seal pup hunt when actually nobody does it anyomre. then they complain about we hunt then. but what? would you prefer us to shoot them and see them fall in the water suffering? not only we will make this seal that has been shot suffer and die from it slowly, but also we will not even be able to catch it becuase it'll be in deep water. that's why our so-called barbaric ways are efficient.

It was cancelled this year btw; because global warming is already melting and destroying their habitat.
