Default I know this thread is old but...

I guess the most of us will change something in their life... me, too.
Maybe some simple tricks will help. Like setting "Post-its" with your goals on a good visible place (For example the bathroom mirror when you brush your teeth in the morning), on the fridge, at the side of your PC Monitor etc.
It could help if you start to visualize your goals. Imagine what will change when you implement your purposes. How will people come across with you? What will be their reaction?
If you say you talk to much, perhaps it could work when you ask your friends they shall give you a "sign" to slow down.

Start slowly with one purpose or maybe two you want to change. When you are able to handle this you can approaching the other things.
You can build a list which one got the most priority to you.

I know it's hard to unlearn bad/old habits or start something new. I'm going through it as well
It's normal to have backstrokes. Even when it's often the case. You have to stand your ground!
Sometimes I tell to myself "Either you get your but in gear or you keep sitting down and continue yammering". It takes strength first but it will be worth.

    Good luck =)
