Question Anyone have advice or tips?

    Hey there!

I have always struggled with weight, and I have officially had it.
    I'm 15 years old, male, 5 foot 9 inches, and 200 lbs.

I really want to cut my weight down.

I never have any motivation, I dunno why, I just usually cant keep going with any of the weight loss things I try. Maybe because I get bored I guess, I don't know.

I blame myself for packing on the pounds, but I am starting to do a "plan" so to speak.

This is what I want to do (I started it on Monday)

For breakfast, either Cereal (Special K or Honey Nut Cheerios) or Oatmeal.

For lunch, usually would be a Salad or Peanut Butter and Jelly or Banana, unless I am running out the door, then crap food at school

For dinner, whatever my dad makes, which is usually healthy.

If I snack on food, I'd like to keep it at fruit/fruit cups, cereal, smoothies, or peanut butter and jelly.

Everyday, I try to be active for 45-60 minutes. I do some Wii Fit (Body Tests, Island Lap Running, maybe Rhythmic boxing), then do this:
    Squat Jumps : 15 seconds
    Pushups: 15 Seconds
    Towel Rolls: 15 Seconds
    Towel Raises:15 Seconds
    Half Burpees: 15 Seconds

(If you look up on YouTube "sixpackshortcuts", and scroll to the video labeled "9 min extreme HOME cardio for ripped beach body", that is pretty much what I'm talking about, and I try to do 4 reps.)

Is there anything else I should be doing to help me lose the weight?
My goal is to go down to 160 lbs.

    Thanks in advance!

The most important part of losing weight, is diet.
You can exercise to high heavens but if you're not eating healthy, you won't lose much, if any weight and you in turn will not be healthy and will gain back any lbs you lost.

Don't eat cereal. It's packed with sugar and carbs that you don't need.
Eat only the plain, regular oatmeal, not the sugary flavored ones and stick to the suggested portion sizes on the package. A better thing to eat though would be an omelette with some sort of meat, spinach, onion etc.

Peanut butter and jelly are NOT healthy. If you want peanut butter, get the all natural stuff without sugar.
and Jelly? The average jelly recipe has 6 cups of sugar or more. You're better off just pureeing some berries and putting it in a Tupperware container and spreading it on whole wheat toast(I do not recommend eating wheat though due to an appetite stimulant called Gliaden, but many people find it too restrictive. Gliaden causes the average person to eat about 400 extra calories per day.)

Bananas are also one of the worst fruits you can eat for losing weight. they're full of sugar and starches. Also, don't eat root vegetables. Also full of starch and hard to digest.

Stick to dark, leafy greens and natural, high protein foods. No pre-packaged shit, including fruit cups. That's not water the fruit is sitting in, it's syrup which contains sugar and preservatives.

Eat 5-6 SMALL meals through the day, not 3 big ones, this will keep your metabolism up.

I watched the video. I don't think I can do jumping squats four times.

And as Shonna mentioned, I might eat more often thorough the day like five or six small meals for my metabolism.

    Shonna what really is metabolism?

Metabolism is usually divided into two categories. Catabolism breaks down organic matter, for example to harvest energy. Anabolism uses energy to construct components of cells such as proteins and nucleic acids.

    Default Wow.

    Wowzers. That's a lot that I didn't know.

To answer Placebo's question: Its 90.72kg
Shonna : Wow. You have a lot of knowledge. Now I know what I should be doing, rather than what I was trying to do. I'll try to make a meal plan and post it here.

Sorry I didnt reply sooner. I didnt get any emails to tell me there were replies.

Actually, the most, last, first, and only important thing in losing weight is that you are burning more calories than you consume. Eating healthy is fine. By all means do it, but do not think that eating wheat bread instead of white bread will help you lose weight that much faster. You can lose weight eating mostly Twinkies (not advisable).

Where people have usually run into problems with losing weight is underestimating how many calories they are consuming or burning. The use of online calculators (and common sense) can be helpful. Be honest with how many miles you ran, if you ran (or walked for part of it), because really the only person you are cheating is yourself if you lie about that.

spot on, burn more calories than you eat, work that out in your diet and you should be fine. it all depends on if you want to lose fat slower or faster.

If I snack on food, I'd like to keep it at fruit/fruit cups, cereal, smoothies, or peanut butter and jelly.
i would take out the Honey Nut Cheerios, Oatmeal, Peanut Butter, Jelly, no snack food at all if your serious. make your own lunch for school instead of eating the crap food at school. use wholemeal bread not white, body can digest brown bread quicker, plus be more filling.

i watched that video, maybe do a 30-40 minute walk or a small jog to get your heart rate up before doing that stuff from the video, that way faster heart rate, better weight lose = burns calories. buy some weights if you can and push your self. healing muscles can still burn fat up to 2-3 days later. in that healing time, walk or jog, keep the heart rate up mate and just dont eat junk. not easy, but will power will get you to reach that goal. i could add so much more, but let us know how your going "now" since the start of this thread????

my replies will be based on gym training in the past, gym teachers, testing on my own body, pharmacies advice, health specialists. i raced pro bmx, race moto-x, tournament fighting, tennis, sports is my life. everyones different, find a diet that works for you and in your time frame. be more active in-between, meaning find a sport, if your into sports, just get out and live life. also try to enjoy your self while losing weight.

keep us up to date, and also if you change your health routines, let us know. cheers.
