Metallica or Megadeth?

During the early to mid eighties, who was the better band?

Megadeth had some really good songs on one of there albums

but not as many as Metallica, in my eyes Megadeth sounded like

trash on most of there albums. Metallica in my eyes were orsm

but some people say Megadeth was better

i just want to see this forums appionion.

Haha. If I'm not mistaken, Metallica are the Fathers of Thrash Metal. Saving us from the awful Glam Metal that was taking over the friggin" world. They brought back that heavy sound of Black Sabbath and Judas Priest. Megadeth followed (along with Slayer and Anthrax). Both had awesome songs. Both are great. Dave Mustaine (Megadeth) was in Metallica but I think he was a drunkard and they kicked him out or he had some anger problems or something. I forgot. But yeah...

Who's better? Meh. Metallica, in my opinion. But again, both bands rule.
