Appeal trial on death of British hostess begins in Japan



The appeal trial was set to begin today in the closely watched case of a Tokyo businessman who was accused of abducting and killing British bar hostess Lucie Blackman.The Tokyo District Court in May last year sentenced Joji Obara, a wealthy former property developer, to life in prison for raping nine women including Australian bar hostess Carita Ridgway, who also died.
