Eminem and Missy swap Grammys for Oscars.

Detroit rapper Eminem is planning a return to Hollywood! In what will be his second leading role, he will star in a modern adaptation of the TV Western classic ‘Have Gun, Will Travel’ that starred Richard Boone.



Paul Rosenberg, Eminem's manager told Variety Magazine that the action drama will be "revamped from the original, with some characters based loosely on ones from the series as well as nods to certain story points,"



The original series told the tale of a professional gunfighter, set in the wild west of San Francisco, but it remains a mystery whether the re-make will be set in Eminem’s hometown of Detroit. It is also uncertain whether the revision will see the rapper sippin’ on cognac, rolling dice and quoting Biggie or, staying true to the original role of Paladin, nipping brandy, playing chess or annunciating Shakespeare.



Perhaps the rapper is looking for another Oscar! He was awarded the prestigious accolade, in the category of Best Music; Original Song, at the 2003 Academy Awards for his song ‘Lose Yourself’ that featured in his loosely based bio-flick 8 Mile.



With the recent success of box office hits such as 50 Cent’s big screen debut, ‘Get Rich or Die Trying’, the bio-pic has become an official indication of rap super-stardom! Which is exactly why it makes perfect sense that plans are currently underway for a Missy ‘Misdemeanour’ Elliot movie.



Universal is, at present, working with Robert De Niro’s production company Tribeca Films on the flick. The as-yet-untitled project will see Missy playing herself in a silver screen version of her life story.



This will be Missy’s second appearance as herself in a feature film, after playing alongside Jessica Alba in Honey. There has been no confirmation that Timbaland will be played by a look-alike actor or whether he will have to learn how to act as well.
