In my english class we're doing a poetry unit and one of the poem we had to write was a personal add for yourself, so here it is. when i was writing this i had an "ah ha!" moment like, i really am afraid of recovering because i'm afraid of life--

Disheartened sixteen year old

wants to make a difference.

Is frightened of: the dark, spiders,

failure, food, and scales.

Will listen and try to understand.

Will attempt to reach outside of herself

long enough to let you know you matter,

but will most likely remain in

her own hole, wrapped snug in a

thick blanket of her own problems and issues

shaking at the mere thought of emergence.

Depressed sixteen year old:

most frightened of living her life.
