Should reading your wife's e-mail be a crime?

He shouldn't have been going through his wife's e-mail, but in my opinion this should be more of a moral problem than a criminal problem. In other words, he was in the wrong, but he shouldn't go to jail or go to court over something so stupid.

Of course it should be a crime. It infringes on privacy laws put in place to protect YOU.

Doesn't matter if it's a family member who does it or a professional hacker.
A crime is a crime and the moment you start making exceptions is when the lawyers will start tearing that shit apart in court rooms. A line has top be drawn and IMO, good on them for making an example out of him.
