Default Using madeleine as a smoke screen debate homework

For college i'm in this debate team and we have this debate coming up well we pulled out the subject of madeleine (you know that girls that has gone missing) and how the media has put up a smoke screen around it.

Well for my part of the debate ive choosen to use the madeleine disaparance as a smoke screen for the war going on and the people of the world who dont have a voice.

So i was just wondering if you could read through it and give me a few pointers if you feel like i need to add something in or take something out.

Here it is sorry kinda of long :

I ask for your attention just for 5 minutes of your hectic lives. Turn on the television, what do you see?

DAVID BECKHAM holding up her posters,

BRITISH FOOTBALLERS wearing her t shirts,

    BRITISH YOUNGSTERS with arm bands,

    NEWSPAPPERS offering millions in rewards,

    APPEAL POSTERS flock the streets,

    All for what cause? Madeleine.

-Have YOU seen David Beckham holding up posters for the hundreds of thousands of Iraqi children slaughtered in the previous years?

-Have YOU seen british footballers wearing t-shirts calling for justice for the thousands of children raped and murdered in Iraq over the past four years?

-Do YOU wear an arm band for the millions of Iraqi's who've been mutilated, raped, tortured, and left as refugees?

-What REWARDS do you see in british pappers offering finance in return for JUSTICE for the Iraqi's?

-What APPEAL POSTERS do you see calling for a pull out in IRAQ?

Whether you know it or not, the british media believe one British persons blood is more important than the blood of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi children, many of them molested, raped, beaten, tortured as the lawless territories in Iraq remain open to blood shed on all sides.

Madeleine is one girl. Yes, everybody should wish for her SAFE return, but why is she the CENTRE OF MEDIA ATTENTION when HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of Iraqi children are worst off?

    TWO REASONS.

Because they are Iraqi, not british.

Because people are bored of Iraq. So what, 650,000 people died, thousands of children murdered, thousands mutilated, who cares? British people dont.

Madeleine has become a smoke screen covering up the real news, she's been used to give british football stars propoganda, bringing them more fans and more wealth. The reason british soccer stars and politicans, and business men offering rewards dont do the same for Iraqi's is because they know we, the british public see Iraqi's as less important, british people have always been superior.

And judgement day has arrived, switch on your television sets. ONE girl is the top news story, whilst Iraqi's, all 650,000 dead of them FAIL to be mentioned. Infact, on skynews.com MADELEINE has her own news section whilst the millions being slaughtered in DARFUR have nothing.

Today you should realize that the MEDIA only care about british problems because british people don't care about other people's problems. The day 150 Iraqi's, many of them children YOUNGER than madeleine were blown to pieces in a market in baghdad, The VA Teach students were top of the news. Why? Because they were white, they weren't muslim.

So boys & girls, Next time hundreds of girls get blown up In iraq you may just find them placed somewhere between the weather & spoters headlines (if theirs time).

However, next time one white british or american girl goes missing, find her the top news headline.

Would our sporting hero's have worn 'help find her" t shirts had madeleine beein an Iraqi girl? Ask them why they haven't worn t shirts for the 100,000+ dead Iraqi girls. They'll possibly tell you because they don't care about Iraqi blood as Iraqi's dont give them income.

GOD BLESS IRAQI AND PALESTINIAN CHILDREN, THE REAL VICTIM'S WHO'LL NEVER HAVE A VOICE. Their parents cannot afford multi million pound lawyers top solve the case, they cannot even afford food.

It is impossible for any severed individual to experience pain
Pleasure, memory, dream or thought of any kind
This young man will be as unfeeling as unthinking as the dead
    Until the day joins them

I don't know weather I'm alive or dreaming or dead or remembering
How can you tell what's a dream and what's real
When you can't even tell when your awake and when your asleep
    Where am I?
