Something to think about before self-harming



Ok, so if you want to cut or hurt yourself, think through this:



1. What do I want?



2. What do I have to do to get it?



3. How will I feel when I get it?



4. So, what I REALLY want is…



5. Other ways i can get this....



For example:



1. What do I want? to cut



2. What do I have to do to get it? pick up something sharp and cut



3. How will I feel when I get it? less stressed, guilty



4. So, what I REALLY want is... to feel less stressed



5. Other ways i can get this... listen to music, phone a friend, sleep
